Telkomsel's iPhone 3G is coming

It's coming. First launching will be in South Pavilion Pacific Place on 20 March 2009 at 2000 to midnight. Pre-order users shall have first priority to get the iPhone 3G.

Nevertheless, the pricing scheme has put me in little shock. The unlock prepaid is expensive, Rp. 9.6 million for 8GB and Rp. 11.2 million for 16GB. That would be around $827 and $965 for 8GB and 16GB respectively at current exchange rate. Both unlock prepaid scheme includes 500MB free data (worth of Rp. 2.5 million). However, I'm not sure whether this 500MB free data is monthly free or not.

Postpaid scheme offers much more realistic pricing-scheme. Handset price plus monthly fee include 500MB free data, free sms, free talk. The amount of free sms and free talk depends on the scheme, from 3 available options. But still, I think the price scheme is too expensive.

Nevertheless, this won't stop Apple fan and iPhone freak from getting in the line to get this sweet gadget.

iPhone 3G from Telkomsel Indonesia

Stumbled upon Telkomsel's website, found out that Telkomsel today announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to bring iPhone 3G to Indonesia in the coming months.

Reservation for pre-order at http://www.telkomsel.com/iphone

It is cleverly said "coming months", so don't get your hopes too high.

telkomsel sucks

This is the second time when my Blackberry's "GPRS" turn into "gprs". It was Friday, the first time I had this situation. For almost 3 (three) hours my BlackBerry turned into ordinary mobile phone. And now, at 1530 LT, it happens again.

I really want to know which part of the term "Unlimited" Telkomsel does not understand. I think, I should have unlimited access time for Push Email, and I should have unlimited access time to the internet.

What is the SLA for "Unlimited Data Plan"?
