How to disable iPhone's cellular network and use wifi connection only

This is very useful if you are in a low cellular coverage area but you
have a very good wifi coverage as I had this morning. Most of mining
area, especially remote one in Indonesia, would most likely have this
condition. Keeping your iPhone to automatically search for cellular
network would drain its battery within no time. I hope this trick,
which I put in this post as a reminder for me, would be useful for
you.

Go to Settings > Airplane Mode, switch it On
This will switch all iPhone's radio off.

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, switch it On
Select a hotspot.

That's it. That was not so difficult.

BlackBerry Curve to beat iPhone as best selling smartphone

From CrackBerry.com: BlackBerry Curve (83xx series) move past iPhone to become best selling smartphone in the US. The NDP Group, a leader in wireless industry market research, reported that RIM’s consumer smartphone market share increased 15 percent to nearly 50 percent of the smartphone market in Q1 2009 versus the prior quarter, as Apple’s and Palm’s share both declined 10 percent each.

Here is the detail.

Telkomsel's iPhone 3G is coming

It's coming. First launching will be in South Pavilion Pacific Place on 20 March 2009 at 2000 to midnight. Pre-order users shall have first priority to get the iPhone 3G.

Nevertheless, the pricing scheme has put me in little shock. The unlock prepaid is expensive, Rp. 9.6 million for 8GB and Rp. 11.2 million for 16GB. That would be around $827 and $965 for 8GB and 16GB respectively at current exchange rate. Both unlock prepaid scheme includes 500MB free data (worth of Rp. 2.5 million). However, I'm not sure whether this 500MB free data is monthly free or not.

Postpaid scheme offers much more realistic pricing-scheme. Handset price plus monthly fee include 500MB free data, free sms, free talk. The amount of free sms and free talk depends on the scheme, from 3 available options. But still, I think the price scheme is too expensive.

Nevertheless, this won't stop Apple fan and iPhone freak from getting in the line to get this sweet gadget.
