How to delete Gmail messages on your iDevices instead of archive

This is practically an overdue feature, especially if you are using Gmail exchange account on your iDevices. I did not know until today that Gmail has provided an additional setting under Google Sync which enable you to actually delete Gmail messages instead of archive them. Basically when you swipe or tap delete on any message, the iOS will "tell" Gmail to archive it. This occurred only on Gmail account which you have set as exchange account.

To "actually" delete Gmail messages you need to reconfigure Google Sync to delete messages on your iDevices.

To do this, follow these simple steps to enable the "Delete Email as Trash" feature in Google Sync:

Go to m.google.com/sync (please note that the Google Sync features are only available only if you've setup your Gmail account as a exchange account). You might probably get an error screen of "unsupported device". Here is the trick: go below and find an option to change the language. Change the language to English (US). The screen will automatically refresh and you will have Google Sync screen.

Login using your Gmail username. You'll get into Google Sync configuration. Here you should see a list of your iOS devices that are configured to use Gmail.

*//Tap on the relevant iOS device.

*//You should now see an option to Enable "Delete Email as Trash", tap to select this option.

*//Tap on the save button.

That's it, now when you tap on the Delete button in the Mail app on that iOS device or you swipe to delete, Gmail should send the email to the Trash folder instead of archiving it.

Note:

Google Sync features are available only via Microsoft Exchange. Google Sync via Microsoft Exchange includes push email feature, which means that the emails will be delivered to your iOS device as soon as it arrives, unlike the regular Gmail account, which retrieves emails at x time basis.

Full Steam Ahead as PLN Targets Geothermal Power

Coal-powered plants account for around 42.2 percent of that capacity, with diesel-fired plants 23.7 percent, gas 22 percent, hydropower plants 6.7 percent and geothermal and other renewable energy at 5.4 percent. -- Excerpt from The Jakarta Globe

I personally think that coal power plants will still play major role in 10 years due to lower capex for development. Challenges to balanced energy mix would be economic scale and ROI. If new technology offers lower development cost then energy mix portion will shift to non-coal based.

Is Asia Following the West Down the Wrong Energy Path?

Part of the problem is that Asian countries, and developing nations on other continents, still appear to want to emulate the West, rather than surpass it. -- Excerpt from The Jakarta Globe
Clean energy is certainly a challenge to every nation in the world, especially Asia. Providing energy to fuel the development while reducing the effect of the development itself.
The latest statement is worth to fight for: "maybe it's time for Asia to lead rather than follow"

Coal upgrading will only boost exports. Is it true?

The government’s plan to ban low-calorific coal exports starting in 2014 will not help the country reduce reserve exploitation if the technology to upgrade coal calorific value is available, according to an industry group. -- Excerpt from The Jakarta Post

There is one thing which would be an issue, in my opinion, that if production growth would be limited by banning low-calorific coal export while coal producers have had legal permit dan production capacity then where would those coal go?

Since currently government can only absorb 24% to 30% out of Indonesia coal production then it will significantly hold production growth, which then will impact on investment in coal industry.

Lady in red among color balls

She's going to be two years old by the end of November. She's growing up so fast each day. This is good. Nevertheless I miss all the time when I can hold her in my arm while she were sleeping. As a parent, all that I need to do is to help her to be able to face her own challenges in the future. To have a sharp mind, a strong shoulder, hands, and legs, a warm and nurturing heart. Insya Allah.
